Louis Gascone – 48 – USA

Louis Gascone, aged 48, has spent the last 14 years on death row in the Louisiana State Penitentiary. Mr Gascone was found guilty or 5 counts of armed robbery and two counts of second degree murder due to the shooting of two Louisiana State Troopers who caught him in the act. Mr Gascone’s council, to this day, maintains that the sentence should be down-graded to voluntary manslaughter as Mr. Gascone states that the officers opened fire with no warning and he panicked. The only witness to the shooting, while originally corroborated Mr Gascone’s argument, withdrew their statement before they could be cross-examined. The state of Louisiana has now denied Mr Gascone’s final appeal and he has been sentenced to be killed by electrocution.

Ibrahim Muhammad al Omari – 56

Beaten and humiliated, 56 year old Ibrahim Muhammad al Omari was dragged to a Saudi prison over 3 months ago. His crime was that of Sedition, speaking out against a local authority in a manner that may be seen to sow insurrection. In his case, Mr Omari was complaining about the prices of bread in his local district. Guards stepped in to arrest him when Mr Omari stood on a box and started to address a growing crowd of spectators. After a very brief hearing Mr Omari’s sentence has been passed and he has been condemned to be publically beheaded by sword in Deera Square

Sukhbataar Khenbish – 37

On the evening of March 19th 2008, Sukhbataar Khenbish, aged 37, was apprehended by the Mongolian government on charges of aiding a terrorist group working against the republic of China. The details of Mr. Khenbish’s case have been kept confidential, and while no official date of execution has been set since Mongolia is currently under moratorium towards capital punishment, it is strongly believed that Mr. Khenbish will be executed in secret over the course of the next two weeks. Secret executions have been practiced in Mongolia for a number of years and our sources confirm this to be imminent in the case of Mr. Khenbish.

Lie-shi Gan -21-China

Lie-shi Gan has been sentenced to death for allegedly taking part in organized criminal and ‘anti-government’ activities linked to various triad organizations. While he initially confessed to all crimes put forward, his lawyer claims that Lie-shi was forced to confess under heavy duress and that he does not even know the crimes he is being sentenced for. Of the seven witnesses who were called by the defence, none came forward during the trial. While the original confession and current evidence show an alarming number of inconsistencies, Lie-shi Gan’s appeal has failed twice and he now awaits death by lethal injection.

Irina Vichenko –27 – Belarus

On the evening of September 17th, 2009 27 year old Irina Vichenko was apprehended in connection with three murders in the Brest Voblast region of south-western Belarus. During the course of the lengthy 3 year trial, Miss Vichenko eventually confessed to the murder of the three victims. There was, however, no motive or calculation to her actions. While her counsel argued that Miss Vichenko’s behavior suggested serious mental illness, no formal psychological evaluation was ever conducted. Instead Irina Vichenko has been sentenced to death. In two weeks she will be transferred to the Minsk Detention Center No. 1 where she shall await death by a single gunshot to the back of the head.

Salma Jamshidi – 27

Salma Jamshidi has been condemned to death for the alleged crime of adultery. As dictated by the Sharia law of Iran, adultery is punishable by death if 4 witnesses testify and confirm the so-called crime. In Salma’s case there are only three witnesses and all of them close friends to the man with whom she apparently committed infidelity with. However, none of the testimonials is consistent with any of the others and Salma’s husband insists that on the evening in question she was with him in their home. Salma claims that the man who has accused her is angry because she resisted his advances. It is very likely that she is, in fact, innocent and the victim of the man’s vengeful ego. Should the local magistrate not be convinced of her innocence, it is very likely that Salma will be hung or possibly even stoned to death

Ο χρήστης αναλαμβάνει το ρόλο του συντονιστή της προσπάθειας για την κατάργηση της θανατικής ποινής σε έξι χώρες και συγκεκριμένα σε China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, USA, Belarussia και Mongolia.
Κάνοντας τις ενέργειες που του επιτρέπει το παιχνίδι θα πρέπει να βρει πόρους και να οργανώσει τη δράση του ώστε να επηρεάσει την κοινή γνώμη ενάντια στην θανατική καταδίκη και τελικά να αναγκάσει και την κυβέρνηση να προχωρήσει στην κατάργηση της στην χώρα.
Το παιχνίδι είναι έτσι φτιαγμένο ώστε ο χρήστης παίζοντας το να ενημερώνεται αλλά και να ευαισθητοποιείται για το θέμα, ενώ μέσα από του facebook ενημερώνει τους φίλους του για την πρόοδο του αλλά και τους καλεί να παίξουν και να ενημερωθούν και οι ίδιοι μια και αυτό θα τον βοηθήσει να φτάσει στη νίκη γρηγορότερα.
Πρόκειται για ένα παιχνίδι στρατηγικής με social elements. Είναι ένα κλασσικό κατάκτησης περιοχών, με την έννοια πως κάθε χώρα που καταργείτε η θανατική ποινή είναι μία χώρα που κατακτάς. Θα χρησιμοποιήσουμε έτσι το συνηθέστερο ταμπλό ενός παιχνιδιού στρατηγικής που δεν είναι άλλο από τον παγκόσμιο χάρτη.
